Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data CoverStock collects, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

1. Who This Policy Applies To

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the CoverStock mobile application and any associated websites operated by Cover Stock LLC ("CoverStock," "we," "us," or "our"). By using the service, you agree to the data practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

  • Account registration: Your name, email address, and password when you create an account.

  • Profile information: Optional username and profile photo.

  • Verification requests: If you apply for verified seller status, you may submit a phone number, Instagram handle, and a brief statement about your resale experience.

  • Messages: Any messages you send to CoverStock support through the in-app messaging feature.

Information collected automatically

  • Transaction data: Records of covers you purchase, resale listings you create or buy, ticket codes, and transaction amounts.

  • Device information: Device type, operating system version, and app version, used for crash reporting and compatibility.

  • Push notification tokens: If you allow notifications, we store a device token to deliver alerts.

Information from third parties

  • Square: When you make a payment, Square processes your card details and shares with us your Square Customer ID, payment status, and last 4 card digits for display purposes. We never see or store your full card number.

Information we do NOT collect

  • We do not collect precise GPS location. The city you select in the app is stored as a text preference, not a GPS coordinate.

  • We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

  • We do not use your data for targeted advertising.

  • Generating and validating digital tickets → Transaction data, ticket codes

  • Sending purchase confirmations and support replies → Email, message content

  • Delivering push notifications (if enabled) → Push notification token

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your data. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Square — payment processing. (squareup.com/us/en/legal/general/privacy)

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and real-time infrastructure. Data is stored on Supabase-managed servers. (supabase.com/privacy)

  • Expo (Expo Push Notifications) — delivery of push notifications if you have enabled them. (expo.dev/privacy)

  • Venue operators — when you purchase a cover at a venue, that venue's staff can scan your ticket code to verify entry. They see only your ticket code, cover type, and check-in status.

  • Legal requirements — we may disclose data if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Transaction records are retained for a minimum of 3 years for financial and legal compliance purposes.

If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or needed to resolve open disputes.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including:

  • All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS.

  • Passwords are hashed and never stored in plaintext.

  • Payment card details are handled entirely by Square — we never see or store full card numbers.

  • Database access is protected by row-level security policies.

No system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data and are not responsible for unauthorized access resulting from your own actions (e.g., sharing your password).
